I would like to run a monitoring program in conjunction with a netbook computer and a web cam.
The Vista and Windows 7 driver for the Web Cam that I will use has increased resolution and features compared to the XP one. I am considering Windows 7 because of its smaller HD and CPU foot print compared to Vista.
I have downloaded and installed the WebCam Monitor 5.17 trial/eval. software onto a PC with the latest Windows 7 RC (build 7100). WebCam Monitor does not launch or anything- no errors nothing. I have tried the various compatibility modes also (ie. XP SP2, Vista, etc.).
I certainly understand that Windows 7 has not been finalized and released yet (RTM October 2009?). However, another competing product that I am also considering works fine with Windows 7 RC- it does not even have to run in compatibility mode.
Any word or ETA from the developers with regard to WebCam Monitor and Windows 7 support? (Any early Beta version of WebCam Monitor that can be tried, evaled.?)
TIA
