Q&A:

Auto FTP Manager: A few
technical questions |
|
Q. |
I came across Auto Ftp
Manager while looking for a solution to automating
the backup of certain key files on our UNIX server
through our Windows server and then onto a tape
backup. I have explored the program and it seems
to fit the bill. However, I had a few technical
questions: |
|
|
1. |
Will the program
work on a server with a Xeon processor running
small Business Server 2000? |
2. |
Will the software
be able to determine which file type to
use? (ASCII etc) |
3. |
Will the Synchronize
tool reliably keep a mirror copy of the
working directories on UNIX (including deleting
all removed files on UNIX from the windows
backup directory) |
4. |
Will the default
file type settings be sufficient for our
uses since all of the key files are simple
text (.c and .h files)? |
|
|
|
A. |
1. |
We have tested
Auto FTP Manager on Pentium 4 with Hyper
Threading, which simulates a dual processor.
Therefore, Auto FTP Manager should not have
a problem running on a Xeon processor. |
2. |
You may use the
Association List in order to specify the
file type to use for a particular extension.
Auto FTP Manager already specifies some
default settings that should be sufficient. |
3. |
This is possible
if you correctly set the Action Rules (default
settings should work). Synchronization will
delete the remote file if a corresponding
local file is not present and vice-versa. |
4. |
You can change
the file type setting from the Association
List. Simply add the extensions and specify
the mode that you want to use. |

Article : Making websites multilingual |
|
|
|
One of the most
important things for a website is to get its message
across to the widest possible audience. A majority of
Internet users today are either American or European.
Websites can gain a competitive edge by having multilingual
versions of its content to reach out to customers who
might speak a different language. Site Translator makes
this possible with just a few clicks. |
|
Preparing to translate
a website |
|
The Site Translation
feature allows you to translate complete folder or files(s)
to any of the supported languages. Before translating
your website, make sure that all of your web pages are
in one folder for convenience. You also need to decide
on the location where you intend to save the translated
folder. Site Translator allows you to translate folders
present anywhere in your network, just make sure that
the required permissions to access the folder are granted
for the PC on which you are running the Site Translator.
If you choose to translate a folder, then all its subfolders
containing htm, html, asp, aspx and xml pages are automatically
translated. |
