Media Files
Viewing Videos, Audios and Photos
You can see the list of video and audio files and photos generated by Video/Audio Recording and Take Photos alerts, respectively, by selecting the Recordings tab.
To see the list of media files:
- On the main user interface of Security Monitor Pro, select the Recordings tab.
- Recording Folder displays the location where you have saved your media files.
- To view specific type of files (for instance, only video files), check or uncheck the Video, Audio and Photos options.
You can also change the way the media files are displayed in the Recordings Tab by selecting from five standard views. Right-click on the list of recordings (but not a file name) and choose View. Click on any of the five options listed.
Opening Videos, Audios and Photos
To open video, audio and photo files in their default players:
- Select the Recordings tab.
- Double-click the file that you want to open. You can also right-click the file and select Preview from the menu that appears.
- To preview multiple files in a single playlist, multi-select them by holding down either Ctrl or Shift while clicking on files. After you have selected all the files you want to preview, right-click on any selected file and select Preview from the menu that appears.
Deleting Videos, Audios and Photos
You can delete video, audio and photos generated by the Video/Audio Recording and Take Photo alerts from the Recordings tab. To automatically delete generated files, you can configure settings provided by the two alerts.

Deleting video, audio and photo files
- Select the Recordings tab.
- Select all files that you want to delete.
- Right-click on any selected file and click Delete.
This permanently deletes the file from your hard disk.
Deleting specific type of files
- Select the Recordings tab.
- Right-click on the recordings window (but not a file name), point to Select and click All Video Files, All Audio Files or All Image Files depending on the type of files you want to delete.
- Right-click on any selected file and click Delete.
Auto Delete on Startup
By default, the oldest media files are automatically deleted on startup if 2 GB of space is left on the drive where they are saved. You also have the option to auto delete media files on startup that are older than the specified number of days. To work with these options:
- From the Tools menu, click on Application Settings.
- Under the General tab, you will see Auto delete media files on startup.
- The Auto delete oldest file if option is checked. You may uncheck it if you like. The default space limit of 2 GB can also be changed.
- You can check the Auto delete files older than option and specify the number of days.
