When a web page is translated, Site Translator follows these steps for every phrase:

1. Search for a match for the phrase in the Translation Memory.
2. If a match is found, use it as the translated phrase.
3. If a match is not found then get the translated phrase from the translation server.
4. If the phrase was not already in Translation Memory, add it.

As more and more web pages are translated, the Translation Memory keeps improving. You can also edit Translation Memory to improve translation accuracy.

Translation memory provides you with a means of customizing translations, and helps to speed up the process.
