I have two AVI files in the timeline. I then Make Movie in AVI format. In Auto Select, the wizard selects Microsoft MPEG-4 Version 3 video compressor and Microsoft ADPCM audio compressor. In the Make Movie process, after about 30% complete, the wizard jumps to 100% complete and I get only half a file.

In rare cases, the Microsoft ADPCM audio compressor causes this problem. Sometimes the problem is with specific files present in the timeline and sometimes due to a gap in the timeline.
To fix the problem irrespective of the cause:
1. Select another audio compressor like PCM or MPEG Layer-3.
2. If possible, close all gaps present in the timeline.
