I am using XP MCE 2005.
I want to make sure DMC converts files from dvr-ms to WMV.
Also need to do some very basic trimming.
Also, need to burn to DVDs that will play on stand alone players.
What do you suggest?

Digital Media Converter can convert DVR-MS files to Windows Media format (WMV).
The following article explains how to convert DVR-MS files.
https://www.deskshare.com/resources/articles/dmc_DVRMS.aspx
After you convert the files then you can use any burning software.
If you need to trim the files or do basic editing then you will need video editing software such as Video Edit Magic. (

Hello:
Yes I also wanted to edit my DVR-MS files. And YES you can....
1. Go to
https://www.thegreenbutton.com
2. Go to "Download Center"
3. Download the DVR-Edit software and other Tools IF you think you will use them.
4. There all FREE
I Edit my DVR-MS files first and then use Digital Media Converter
I take a One Hour show and cutout about 15min, moving the file size from 2.3GB to about 1.8GB that will save time converting you files.
