I have a 900Mb video I want to burn to a 120 minutes 4.7Gb disc, but the software states the disc(DVR-D)is too small because it's not 5.8GB maximum capacity which doesn't make any sense to me. I don't want to burn 5.8Gb but 900mb and 162 minutes of a video to a 4.7Gb disc.

A normal DVD Video disc will allow you to burn movies up to 2 hours or 120 minutes. DVD Author Plus has several burn settings so you can burn longer movies to a DVD video disc.

Please make sure you select DVD Video as the type of disc to burn. Change the video quality setting to Long Play (LP). This will allow you to burn up to 3 hours of video onto your DVD.
