How can I move very small clips on the timeline?

I have 2 video tracks and two audio tracks.
On each video track I have several clips.

If I just put the mouse on one end of a clip and click and drag, it shortens the clip and makes it run at a faster than 100% speed - Bizzare default behaviour but at least a warning pops up.

How do I drag the clip to change the in and out points.

Dragging the edge of the clip changes the duration.

To trim a clip, open the Selection Sliders. Drag them to the start and end of the part of the clip you want to keep. Click Edit >> Crop. Everything outside the sliders will be deleted.

When the pieces of the clip are very small they and the timeline is zoomed out so you can see them all. It's impossible to select them, and even if you think you did that, when you drag them around they're changing their size.

If you zoom in and they really become selectable it takes a very long time to get them where you want.

So MY QUESTION IS : Is there another way of selecting the pieces to or to drag them around?

I would suggest zooming in and selecting the small clip. After it is selected, zoom out and use the left and right arrow keys to move it around.

You can move a clip quite quickly using this method when you have it selected.
