Microsoft Output Formats
Rip DVD Plus can create files to play on two major types of Microsoft devices, Zune Portable Players and Xbox Game Consoles.
Zune Device Profiles
Zune Video
Output Profile >> Microsoft >> Zune WMV
This profile produces Windows Media Video ( *.wmv ) files with the help of the Windows Media Video 8 compressor. This compressor offers a near-DVD-quality video at low bitrates. The Frame Rate is set at 25 Fps and the Bitrate is 512 Kbps. You have the option to retain the dimensions or change it. The Custom region allows you to set your own dimensions.
The audio compressor used is Windows Media Audio 8. It nearly triples the digital music storage on portable devices, PC, and DVD players. The frequency is set at 44100 Hz, bitrate at 128 Kbps. The Stereo audio channel creates an impression of sound heard from various directions.
Zune Audio

This profile produces MP3 audio files with the help of MP3 ( MPEG 1 Layer 3 ) compressor. MP3 compresses files in such a way that you can play them on any portable device. The Frequency is set at 44100 Hz and the Bitrate is 128 Kbps. You can choose either Mono or Stereo (default) as the sound channels.
Xbox Device Profiles
Microsoft makes several Xbox game consoles. Rip DVD Plus can create customized video files for these devices. If you have a standard Xbox, select Xbox H264. If you have an Xbox Media Center Edition (MCE), select Xbox MCE AVI.
Xbox Video
All the Xbox profiles have the same options. The compressors vary depending on which profile you select.
Output Profile >> Microsoft >> Xbox H264
This profile produces MPEG 4 ( *.mp4 ) files with the help of the Intel ( R ) H.264 ( AVC ) compressor. The Frame Rate is set at 25 Fps and the Bitrate is 1500 Kbps. You have the option to retain the dimensions or change it. The Custom region allows you to set your own dimensions.
The audio compressor used is Advanced Audio Codec ( *.AAC ). The frequency is set at 44100 Hz, bitrate at 128 Kbps. Stereo channel mode
All the settings can be changed except the video file format and compressor.
Xbox Audio
Output Profile >> Microsoft >> Xbox Audio
This profile produces MP3 audio files with the help of MP3 ( MPEG 1 Layer 3 ) compressor. The Frequency is set at 44100 Hz and the Bitrate is 128 Kbps. You can choose either Mono or Stereo (default) as the sound channels.
