Timeline Window
The timeline is a time scale for your media where all the action takes place. After including your media files into your project, you need to drag them from the Collections Window into the timeline. Only in the timeline can you give effects to your media clips, edit them using the advanced cut, copy and paste functions, alter their duration and frame rate and much more.
The timeline is further composed of many elements and are briefly explained below:
Scale
The Scale expressed in the format "Hours:Minutes:Seconds.Milliseconds" represents time in the timeline. All tracks and sources in the tracks are displayed against this scale. More...
Movie Track
The Movie Track represents video clips on the timeline. The duration of the video clip is represented along the Movie Track. The volume of the movie track can be varied by changing the value of volume sliders from 0% to 200%.
Music Track
Similar to Movie Track, Music Track represents only the audio sources on the timeline. When an audio clip is added to the timeline then its duration is represented along the Music Track. An audio clip's volume can be varied by changing the value of volume sliders from 0% to 200%. The audio from a clip in Movie Track mixes with a clip in the Music Track. The ratio of audio mixing is determined by the values of the two volume sliders. Despite the name, this Track can be used to place any kind of sound on the Timeline, including voice-over narration.
Effect Track
The Effect Track is where video effects are added. Effects are added from the Video Effects tab in the Collections window. An effect changes the appearance of the video for its own duration on the timeline. More...
Volume Sliders
Both, the Movie Track and the Music Track have volume sliders. The volume slider is used to vary the volume of the track from 0% to 200%. When both the volume sliders are used together, a variety of volume mixes can be created.
Sliders
The timeline includes two types of sliders, the Seek Slider and the Selection Sliders. The Seek Slider is used to mark the current position in the Timeline, while the Selection WSliders are used to select a range in the Timeline. More...
Timeline Controls
The timeline controls are used with the timeline to provide for advanced editing and timeline handling. The Zoom In/Out, Add/Remove Marker, and Show/Hide Selection Sliders buttons on the top left corner of the Timeline constitute the timeline controls.
Link, Lock and Disable Options
These options are present on every track in the timeline. They modify the way sources in a track are edited. For instance, the Lock option prevents any accidental editing of sources in a locked track. More...
