Video Edit Magic Express 4.11

Cropping

Video Edit Magic Express lets you crop a source.  You select the source (s) or part of the source that you wish to retain, and crop the rest of the Timeline.  Everything unselected is removed from the Timeline.  You can even crop only sources in which you have made selections, and leave the unselected ones as they were.

Cropping the entire contents of the timeline

This option allows you to select a source or a part of the source and then delete all the unselected content on the timeline.  This is very convenient when you have imported a media file into the timeline and want to retain only a section of the music or movie track and remove the rest.

  1. Import the media file that you wish to crop from and add it to the timeline.
  2. Select a section of the timeline that you wish to retain.  Use the selection sliders to do this.  You may make a selection from a single track or from multiple tracks.
  3. Lock all tracks that you don't want to be affected by the Crop operation.
  4. Select Edit > Crop to delete the unselected portion of the timeline.

Cropping range selected sources only

Cropping (range) selected sources is similar to Cropping the entire contents of the timeline, except that this option affects only those sources that are at least partly between the selection sliders.  This is quite useful when you want to crop a single source and keep all adjacent sources.

  4. Select Edit > Crop Source (s) to delete the unselected portion of the sources that lie within the selection sliders.

Cropping individual sources only

You can also select individual sources and do a crop operation to keep all the selected sources and delete the rest.  The selection sliders shouldn't be visible when cropping individual sources.

To crop individual sources:

  1. Select the first source that you want to keep.
  2. Press the Ctrl key and individually click all sources to multi-select them.
  3. To select all sources that fall between the first and the last selected source, press the Shift key and select the last source.  All sources in between these sources will be selected at once.
  4. On the Edit menu, click Crop
