Email Responder Manager: Settings

To change the program's settings, click the Settings button on the tool bar, or Tools, Settings.

General Settings

You can modify the following options:

  • Start Email Responder Manager when Windows launches.  If this option is selected, whenever any user logs into Windows on this computer, Email Responder Manager will start up.  Note that until an Administrator logs into Email Responder Manager itself, no mail will be sent or received.
  • On close minimize Email Responder Manager to system tray.  If this option is selected, when the Close button is pressed or the keyboard shortcut Alt-F4 is used, instead of exiting Email Responder Manager will minimize and "hide" itself, visible only as an envelope icon in the System Tray: Tray Icon.  Note that File >> Exit will still exit from Email Responder Manager.
  • Assign mail to user who last replied.  When an Email Responder user has already replied to a particular customer, this option will cause any new mail from that customer to automatically be assigned to the same user.
  • Display password.  If this option is active, passwords will be displayed when logging into Email Responder Manager.  If it is not selected, passwords are displayed as ••••.
  • Disable send and receive for all accounts.  Use this setting to stop all mail transfer.  This could be used if there is a problem and you want to prevent incorrect mail from being sent.
  • Allow attachments of n MB in size.  This allows you to control the size of attachments that can be transferred to and from Email Responder.  if you uncheck this, no attachments are allowed.  If it is checked, you can enter any number between 1 and 50 as the maximum attachment size.  Note: this number is a total for all attachments to a particular message, not a limit on the size of one attached file.
  • On application launch login automatically:  If you select this option, Email Responder Manager will immediately log in using your saved user name and password when it is started.
  • Retrieve changes from client after every n minutes: Email Responder Manager regularly updates its display to show changes made using Email Responder clients.  This setting controls how often the Manager refreshes its displays to show these changes.

You can restore all the settings to their original values by clicking the Use Default button.
